This 2003 release in the DC animated universe serves as a stand alone "in betweener" between Mask of the Phantasm and the Mr Freeze: Subzero movies.
Ironically, it still is better then what they toss at us in the cinema...
A new Bat-family heroine has arrived in Gotham, in the guise of Batwoman. But even the world's greatest detective has no clue who she is, but she is tackling weapons manufacturing sites owned by The Penguin and Rupert Thorne.
While Batman and Robin try to figure out who she is, while in a way actually aiding her, they are faced with numerous setbacks and false trails to uncover the mystery behind the female bat. When Bane is brought in as well by the Penguin, things start to get serious and the caped crusaders have to bond together to face the danger to Gotham city.
While not the strongest of animated batmovies, this still is an enjoyable watch, and I failed as well in solving the identity of the Batwoman. Can you?
